Whole unused months, with a two-day grace period
Sapien costs $24 a year ($2 a month, billed annually). When you cancel, we count the months of your current subscription year that have begun, and refund the rest at $2 a month (plus the matching share of any tax you paid).
A month only counts as used once it is more than two days old. If you cancel within two days of a new month starting, that month is not charged.
An example. You subscribe on 15 October.
- Cancel on 17 November: the second month began on 15 November, only two days earlier, so just one month is used. You get 11 months back ($22).
- Cancel on 18 November: the second month is now more than two days old, so two months are used. You get 10 months back ($20).
- Cancel on 16 October, the day after subscribing: nothing is used yet. You get all 12 months back ($24).
The same rule applies after a renewal: cancel within two days of your subscription renewing and the whole new year is refunded.
The free trial
Your first two days of Sapien are free and no payment details are asked for, so there is nothing to refund. If you do not subscribe, the trial simply ends and your account returns to Free. Each email address gets one free trial.
How to cancel and get your refund
Cancel from your Profile on playsapien.com, or write to info@playsapien.com from the email address on your account. The refund is worked out on the day you cancel, your Sapien access ends that day, and your account returns to Free — nothing you have played is deleted.
Payments and refunds are handled by Paddle, our online reseller and the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Refunds go back to the card or payment method you paid with, and usually arrive within a few days, depending on your bank.
Promotion codes
Sapien given by a promotion code is free, so there is nothing to refund when it ends or if you step back to Free.
Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy takes away any right to cancel or to a refund that the consumer law where you live gives you. Where that law gives you more, you get more.
