Using the game
Play as much as you like. You do not need an account and you are not charged. We ask only that you do not attempt to break, overload or disrupt the site, and that you do not use automated means to hammer it.
What belongs to whom
The game — its code, its design, its writing, the way the globe behaves — belongs to [your name or business name]. You may share screenshots, score cards and links freely; that is what they are for. Republishing the game itself, or a substantial part of it, needs permission.
The map is built from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain. Flags are drawn from public-domain sources. Several United States state flags have been altered to paint out lettering that would give the answer away; they are not accurate reproductions and should not be used as such.
Each fact cites the source it came from, and those sources belong to their authors. The facts are summarised in our own words and linked back so you can read the original.
Accuracy
Every fact in the game has been checked against an institutional source, and every source is linked. Even so, this is a game and not a reference work: borders shown are cartographic conveniences drawn from one public dataset, not a statement about any territorial dispute, and mistakes are possible. If you find one, please say so — it will be fixed.
No warranty
Sojourner is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may change, and it may one day stop. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it or from being unable to use it.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the game does. The date above shows the current version. Continuing to play after a change means accepting it.
Governing law
